10 year mark…

February 7th, 2014

10 years ago today I got down on one knee and asked the love of my life to marry me.

The funny thing is it wasn’t a traditional proposal, but something out of the box which is how I use to like it. As plain as it sounds I proposed to her in front of the TV while we were on the couch. BUT… the idea came over lunch one day with a friend, so while initially I was going to propose on Valentine’s day I got the ring the week before. Tate and I set up the camera and I recorded a video talking about our relationship so far and how I felt about her. At the end of the video I told myself to ask her.

Earlier that day I asked her if she wanted to go to dinner and she agreed. The plan was to record her as she watched the video I had made earlier that day and then propose. So when I got home the plan went into motion. She got in the shower and I set up a camera to record her reaction… After a few false starts with her walking through in her underwear. She was ready to go have dinner and I was ready to show her something “We did at work that day”.

All in all it was an exciting day and night pulling it all together at the last minute and of course her saying yes. I love you!
